Besides a M.A. in professional counseling from Olivet Nazarene University, Laura has a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a diploma in Child Care Services from Madison Area Technical College, and a B.A. in Christian Counseling and Bible and Theology from Nazarene Bible College. She was a preschool teacher for six years and an elementary teacher for ten. She was a therapist at a residential treatment facility for developmentally disabled adolescents with behavior disorders for over a year. Laura also worked as a counselor in a residential treatment facility for adults with alcohol and drug addictions for over two years. She uses play therapy and art therapy when working with children. She believes, in a counseling setting, children can be helped to achieve a healthier sense of self and respect for family dynamics. Laura is a native of Madison and enjoys the Wisconsin countryside. She has been a Christian for over thirty years and believes in the sovereignty of God, the salvation of Jesus, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
